Catholic Family Services Peel-Dufferin (CFSPD) is a multi-service counselling agency that has been providing services in the Region of Peel since 1981. Our mandate is to strengthen families and help stop family violence. We are an accredited organization with Family Services Ontario and a member agency of Catholic Charities. Agency services are available to individuals who are struggling with problems such as depression, anxiety, grief and other life stressors; families who are experiencing marital difficulties, parent-child conflict, developmental transitions and cultural adjustments. Our counselling services are available in English, French, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Mandarin, Polish, Punjabi, Spanish, Urdu and Tamil. Support groups, individual counselling, couple and family work are available for adults who have experienced trauma through childhood abuse. Our programs include comprehensive services to families experiencing woman abuse: support groups for women who have been assaulted by their partners, groups for men who have used abuse in their relationships, and specialized programs offered through the HEAL Network for children and adolescents exposed to woman abuse. Catholic Family Services is proud to be a training facility offering Master level students in counselling programs, post Master's level graduates and foreign trained professionals the opportunity for field placements and clinical experience through our Practicum Training Program in Couple & Family Therapy.

Helping Mothers and Children Survive Abuse Together (HMSCAT) HMSCAT is a free 10-week closed group for women and their children ages newborn to 12 years old. The program provides assistance to women in helping their children deal with the impacts of exposure to woman abuse. HMSCAT is offered in a number of different languages, including English, Spanish, Punjabi, Hindi, Afro-Caribbean languages, and South Asian languages. Women of all religious and ethnic backgrounds are welcomed, and the program is offered in Brampton and Mississauga. Lyrical Quest Lyrical Quest is offered as one session per week for 8 weeks, and is a group program for adolescents who have been exposed to violence against women in their families. The focus is on using music, spoken word, and expressive arts as a therapeutic intervention to stimulate discussion regarding various facets of violence such as social issues, family conflict, and community and cultural beliefs. Adolescents are also taught skills that help them to develop healthy relationships.

Education And Language Training Department - helps newcomers become competent in everyday English * enhances Computer English learning * provides knowledge and techniques required for the process of applying for Canadian citizenship and taking the test * ensures the continuity of heritage language for the Chinese youngsters and provides sufficient reading materials in their own native language * services offered include LINC Classes (Level 1 - 5) * free child minding services * English as a Second Language Classes (ESL) - low, intermediate and high level * citizenship preparation classes - beginner, basic and intermediate level

The Twins Plus Association of Brampton is a not-for-profit social and support group for expectant parents, parents, caregivers and families of twins, triplets, or multiples living in Brampton and the surrounding area through monthly meetings, reading material, clothing sales, and social events. Mission Statement The Mission of the Twins Plus Association of Brampton is to provide moral, emotional and social support and guidance to our members by sharing our mutual experiences as parents of multiple birth children of all ages. We are a support group for parents and caregivers of multiples. We consist of parents and expectant parents of multiples birth children of all ages who share our experiences as parents with one another. We provide an opportunity to meet with other multiple birth parents in an informal social setting. We are a member chapter of Multiple Births Canada, a national organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for multiple birth families in Canada. What We Can Offer What we can offer you as expectant parents or parents of multiples. To develop parental skills through monthly programs, guest speakers and membership in Multiple Births Canada. To enhance our shared situation as parents of multiples through suggestions and experience and to foster friendships and camaraderie through the club and social functions. To provide information and assistance to our members and the community. To provide moral support and fellowship to each other. To open two-way communication channels with each other and with the community concerning the unique situation of parenting multiples as well as furthering research in the area of multiple births. Members can attend our semi-annual sales, where they can sell their gently used clothing, toys, equipment, furniture and accessories. All meetings will ba announced on our website www.twinsplus.ca New & prospective members are always welcome! Multiple Births Canada Multiple Births Canada consists of 27 chapter-clubs nation-wide. MBC is active on both the national as well as the international level as a spokesperson on multiple birth issues. As members of MBC, we have access to a great website with discussion rooms and fact sheets for members, free of charge as well as a discount on publications. They also offer training for volunteers.
